Leonard Lansink as Detective Wilsberg

Storyline

Tax auditor Ekkehardt Talkotter wishes to evaluate Wilsberg’s finances and settles into Wilsberg’s second hand bookstore thereby making his life a living hell. Talkotter believes the the antiquarian bookseller and detective is committing tax fraud and wants to finally find out what is actually going on.

An elegant woman shows up in Wilsberg’s store looking for a book while the financial evaluation is taking place. Georg Wilsberg, distracted by Talkotter’s presence, hands her a business card and writes down his telephone number for easier contact.

Wilsberg’s goddaughter Alex, loses her part time job as a hotel waitress. She is run into when leaving the hotel and believes to have seen a dead body on the car’s passenger seat. The next day, Wilsberg’s client is found dead on a heavily frequented street. The rope with which she had been strangled is still lying around her neck. Moreover, she still has Wilsberg’s business card on her.

Because Alex has been the victim of an attack shortly before, a connection is established between the female body and Alex’s statement, that she had seen a dead body on the passenger seat of the car that ran into her. Was Alex a witness who was supposed to be eliminated? Wile Wilsberg remains preoccupied with the safety of his goddaughter, the police is speculating about a possible serial killer.

To his surprise, detective Wilsberg receives the help and support of Ekki Talkotter, who develops a great interest for the work of the private detective.
