Storyline

In the episode Santa Claus Is Coming To Steele, 3 goons dressed as Santa Claus take advantage of the Christmas party that is being organised at the premises of the Remington Steele Detective Agency for a raid.

Though Dancer, the leader of the three gangsters, succeeded in escaping, the busy Christmas period distracted Remington Steele and Laura Holt, so they forgot about the matter. Meanwhile, the Christmas holidays are over and things are slowly starting to calm down, but they reach an abrupt end, as Dancer reappears.

The two detectives are informed that one of the main witness is in the hospital with serious injuries caused by Dancer. Shortly after the elevator in the Remington Steele Detective Agency office building is tampered with,  and Remington Steele falls in the elevator shaft. Dancer also carries the blame for this event.

Meanwhile, Laura Holt continues to receive small gifts and letters from an unknown admirer, which she suspects could be Remington. Then the whole thing starts to escalate.

Remington Steele, who is staying in his apartment after the fall in order to get some rest, receives a visit from Mildred, who wants to take care of him. Shortly after, the two are taken hostage by Dancer. His plan, according to Remington and Mildred, is to convince the other witness that they should withdraw their statements.

Then it turns out that there is no connection between Remington’s fall and Dancers’ intervention, because Dancer denies having something to do with it.

While Remington and Mildred are held hostage by Dancer, Laura Holt receives visit from Wally, who works in the office building as a janitor.
