Tom Selleck as Private Detective Thomas Magnum

Storyline

The attractive Laura Fraser is hired as a singer in the exclusive King Kamehameha Club, where she makes Magnum’s acquaintance. Now that the two have become friends, she tells him that her then fiance, Eric Tobin, was reported missing in the Vietnam War over eight years ago.

Yet Laura is convinced that Eric is still alive and the private investigator Magnum agrees to do some investigations related to Eric Tobin. As part of his research, he discovers that the supposedly missing Tobin is a specially trained government agent.

Shortly afterwards, the missing Tobin makes an appearance in Hawaii and meets Laura. Instead of approaching her, he flees. The private investigator tracks the fugitive and succeeds in revealing step by step a secret that has so far been guarded and protected.
