Storyline

Laura Holt and her partner, Remington Steele, are completely surprised when the news about the bodies of private detectives Remington Steele and Laura Holt having been found hits the screen.

Although they want to immediately make their way to their office, the two first decide to think things through. They then get in touch with Mildred Krebs, who has also watched the report and who had to assume that that was the truth.

Her grief comes to an abrupt end, as the two believed to be dead call her and tell her that they are doing well. Shortly after, Laura and Remington start working out what has truly happened and who the dead couple really is.

In the course of their investigation they find out that these are  Freddy and his girlfriend. Furthermore, Laura and Remington learn that the two were being chased by a loan shark. Freddy, who was earning his living as a pickpocket, had robbed the loan shark on the racecourse.

Phil, who had noticed the theft, had ??then gone on a hunt for Freddy and his girlfriend.
