Springtime for Steele

Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele

Stephanie Zimbalist as Private Detective Laura Holt

Storyline

Although singer Rocky Sullivan has been very successful with her program, her managers Brian Hunter and Buddy Broker try to rebuild the program for flimsy reasons. Then a bomb attack on the singer is perpetrated while she is on stage.

Laura Holt and Remington Steele, who are good friends with the singer, are witness to this assassination and immediately begin their investigations. Of course, there is first of all the question of who might have a reason to attack Rocky Sullivan.

The private investigators recognize a motive in millionaire Clint Overton. Since he has invested money to make Sullivan more successful and multiply his investment, he could have tried to spark the public’s interest through the resulting publicity of such an attack. Overton's wife, Betty, who is considered to be very jealous, would also have a motive to harm the attractive singer.

Remington Steele and Laura Holt inspect the books of Rocky Sullivan, where they find some information that will help them solve the case. It is apparent from the books that the managers Hunter and Broker did not have faith in Rocky Sullivan’s talent and sold 50 percent of the shares to investors.

The other 50 percent had been sold by Hunter to the boss of a gangster band, called Nash. Another attack follows, with Rocky's manager Brian Hunter collapsing from several shots and being fatally wounded.
